Course Description

Our Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help victims of any age - adults (about 12 years and older) and pediatric (infants and children up to 12 years of age). Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years.

Our Beaverton-based classroom setting provides a convenient certified training environment with schedule flexibility.

Get the CPR certification you need to meet OSHA workplace requirements. At the Red Cross, our Portland CPR training classes can help you develop life-saving skills that you can use at work, at home and everywhere in between. Choose from our in-person training, or our blended Simulation Learning experience, which combines online coursework, which you can take at your own pace, with an in-person skills session. Both types of classes give you the opportunity to receive full certification.

Our one-page instructions offer quick reminders on how to perform life-saving measures, which makes it easy to refresh your memory and maintain your skills.

Your Red Cross CPR certifications are valid for two years. Current certificate holders and those who hold certifications that are within 30 days of expiring can maintain their credentials by completing an abbreviated training session with experts in Portland. CPR classes for renewal candidates are available throughout the year. Please check your local schedule for details.

Cancellation policy

HDE will refund payment for the course, less $5 for processing, if the student notifies the instructor via email that they wish to cancel no less than 1 week before the start of the class. There are no refunds once the class is less than 1 week away.

The student can re-schedule the class to another opening listed on the HDE website at no additional cost if the student emails the instructor with at least 3 days notice before the class the student originally signed up for. There are no re-schedules allowed once the class is less than 3 days away.
